Complex formulation research丨Liposome cosmetic encapsulation

When we use conventional cosmetics, most of the active ingredients need to cross the skin barrier to reach the point where they really work, which results in many beauty products providing only a short-lived effect on the surface. Liposomal cosmetics are a special type of cosmetic product, a class of high-tech cosmetic products made by using liposome technology to encapsulate functional ingredients within liposomes. It has several advantages as follows:

1. Good moisturizing effect: The structure of phospholipid molecules in liposomes is similar to human skin, which can penetrate deep into the stratum corneum and provide long-lasting moisturizing effect.

2. Fast absorption: The ingredients in liposomal cosmetics have been encapsulated in liposomes, which are more easily absorbed by the skin and improve the bioavailability of active ingredients.

3. Low skin irritation: The ingredients in liposomal cosmetics are encapsulated in liposomes, reducing direct contact with the skin and thus reducing the possibility of irritation and allergic reactions.

4. High stability: liposomes protect active ingredients from external environmental influences such as temperature, light, and oxidation, extending the shelf life of the product.

5. Suitable for a variety of skin types: The ingredients in liposomal cosmetics can be adjusted to meet different skin needs and are suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

 

Preparation experiment

Requirement: D50500nm, stable without delamination

 

A. Appearance observation

The appearance of liposomal cosmetics after embedding becomes more permeable


B. Particle size detection

After the liposome cosmetics were embedded by YOCELL high-pressure homogenizer, the D50 particle size decreased from 4.699 um to 181.1 nm, which fulfilled the experimental expectation.

C. Stability testing

After the stability analyzer test, it can be seen that the light transmission of the liposome cosmetics after embedding did not change significantly and the state is relatively stable.
